When School Stops Working, It Doesn’t Mean Your Child Has Failed

Sometimes young people don’t need more pressure.

They need a different environment.
Different relationships.
A different way back.

At FSD Academy, we support young people who are struggling to engage with traditional education by providing a structured, supportive daytime programme focused on confidence, routine, and personal development.

You Are Not Alone

Many families come to us when their child is:

Refusing or struggling to attend school
Experiencing anxiety linked to education
At risk of exclusion
Awaiting EHCP assessment or specialist placement
Feeling overwhelmed in mainstream environments
Losing confidence or motivation
Being home educated but needing structure and social interaction.

If this sounds familiar, you are not the only family facing this — and there are positive next steps.

Important Information

FSD Academy provides a structured mentoring and personal development provision.

We are not a registered school and do not replace a child’s statutory education provision. Parents remain responsible for education arrangements, and we are happy to work alongside schools and professionals where appropriate.

Our Approach

We do not see young people as “difficult”.

We see young people who may have lost confidence, trust, or belief in themselves — and who need the right environment to rebuild.

Many families tell us this is the first place their child has felt understood in a long time.
